We'll be making our first game with images! Students will include these images later on in the project.

Lesson Steps

  1. Have students go to theΒ Finding Images for Your Game section.Β 
  2. Students will need to find images for the following:Β background,Β shop,Β shop power ups, and aΒ click item (such as the cookie).
  3. After reading the myBetabox section, set aside 10-20 minutes for students to search the internet for assets they'd like to use.
  4. We recommend using the www.remove.bg link to create game sprites with transparent backgrounds if Google images yields no usable results.
  5. Check for understanding and answer any questions they may have before moving on to the next section.
  6. Review the section vocabulary below.

  • Sprite: A computer graphic, usually a character or object, that can be moved on screen.
