What will my students experience?

The purpose of Betabox Experiences is to spark interest in STEM topics and peel back the intimidation factor of hands-on skills.

1. Manufacturing & Wiring

The first step of the Self-Driving Cars experience is for students to learn about wiring and assembling the cars.

2. Network engineering

Next, students learn to setup IP addresses and LAN networks to control the cars via a network. Students will walk away having interfaced with Linux and the Raspberry Pi.

3. Algorithm design

The final step in this experience is to use a scratch-based interface onboard the cars to create programs that the car will execute.

4. In-class post-lesson

After the Betabox leaves, the learning is just beginning. All teachers receive access to an ‘Ethics of Self-Driving Cars’ post-lesson that can be used in the classroom to sustain the excitement.
